Being a father in the digital age: a day of conferences to enjoy digital life as a family

In a world where technology has become ubiquitous, District 10 City Council invites you to a day of conferences, Wednesday, March 27, to explore the challenges and opportunities that digital technology represents for families and parents.

In the digital age, parenting raises new questions and unique challenges. What should you be careful about to protect your child’s privacy and personal data, especially on social media? How can we guide young people in this constantly evolving technological world while preserving their well-being and promoting their development? What tools and resources are available to help parents navigate this complex landscape and, especially, how do we know which ones to trust in the face of multiple injunctions, fake news, and more or less hidden ads?

The programming for Wednesday, March 27 at City Hall on the 10thmy

The three lectures offered will be followed by question and answer sessions to allow participants to delve deeper into certain topics and share their experiences with other parents and educators.

2:00 p.m.: “Privacy and personal data of your child”

This conference, organized in association with the National Commission for Information Technologies and Freedoms, will address in particular the risks associated with the use of social networksand will discuss more particularly the children’s image rights as well as the preventive measures against
cyberbullying.

With Xavier Delporte, Director of Public Relations of the National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL)

3:00 p.m.: “The natural intelligence of the child”

Artificial intelligence makes us dream as much as it scares us. If we find it everywhere today, AI will never be able to completely replace the natural intelligence of human beings and, in particular, that of our children.

HE The development of the human brain is indeed a wonderful example of computational analysis.. Just watch a child play: acting like a little scientist, he experiments day after day to validate his hypotheses about the laws that govern his environment. The game thus becomes the basis for the construction of knowledge. to access a coherent representation of the world… naturally!

With Josette Serres, doctor in developmental psychology, former CNRS research engineer, specialist in neuroscience and early childhood

4:00 p.m.: “The Internet, provider of preconceived ideas”

From the moment a child is born, every parent faces a multitude of questions. : Breastfeeding or bottle feeding? Disposable, organic or washable diapers? Pacifier or not? Enough of being perplexed!

The answers can be found among other “experienced” parents, in proven books or in new fashionable authors, and more and more parents are also turning to the Internet, but Who can we really believe? ? In the jungle council to the new parents, How to find the way there? What guides our individual decisions? to form an opinion?

These are the questions that the two speakers will address to close this day of debates on parenting and digital technology.

With Josette Serres, doctor in developmental psychology, former CNRS research engineer, specialist in neuroscience and early childhood, and Albert Moukheiber, neuroscience researcher and clinical psychologist, co-founder of Chiasma.
