Final results of the 2023 baccalaureate call: stabilization of results after the health crisis and the implementation of the new general baccalaureate

Informative note No. 24.07

In the professional sector, the success rate is increasing slightly. After the 2020 and 2021 sessions, interrupted by the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, at the very moment of the implementation of the new general baccalaureate, the evolution moderates again in 2023. However, the global rate of success remains high. 2.7 points more than in 2019.

The 2023 baccalaureate call has 10,800 more candidates than the previous call. In the general and technological careers, the number of candidates is increasing, linked to a strong attraction of the second general and technological career at the beginning of the 2020 school year and the drop in success in the exam in the 2022 call, which has caused a increase. in repetitions in the last year in the following school year. On the contrary, the number of candidates is falling in the professional sector, and the increase in the repetition rate does not compensate for the drop in second professional registrations at the beginning of the 2019 and 2020 academic years.

In 2023, 79.6% of a generation will finish high school, or 0.3 points less than in 2022.
